Vision: Themes... Well the first one that poped into my mind I've already stated. Not only do I like the theme, as you can probably tell I very much like the gesture. Putting someone else before you, that's always very sweet and it shows your companion that you love them or are thankful and such.
"Breakfast in bed" could be the theme, but I could probably think of many more. If that indeed was the theme then you struck it right on.
Originality: I don't browse DA for dragon art personally, but I haven't seen many pictures where such as what is shown here are portrayed. Though some dragon pictures I've seen involved a lone dragon or a pair / couple and they were just usually napping, cuddling, lying about, or doing romantic such and such. I'd say its very original.
Technique: From my level of skill, which is pretty much zero, I'd say this is pretty darn good. It has a great level of detail, from the scales, to the sunlight passing through the thinner wing membranes of the 'ness, the rustles in the bedsheets... The glare of the sun, and the little circles that light that appear when you view it at a certain angle, and off the males shoulder, it's a sun ray!
Looking at the bedsheets in particular however, I don't know why but they just look rough, it doesn't give me the appearance of a soft texture like I'm used to when I look at blankets.
Also, the lighting and shading of the couple. For the amount of light that's coming in, I'd say it looks quite realistic. I can visualize the image quite well and very crisply.
Impact: Mind blown? I wouldn't necessarily say, I for one have seen many draconic artworks these past few years. When I view the artwork I don't hit a wall, but I'd say its something to give a good look at and really appreciate the amount of work the artist has put in. As for first time viewers, I think it's quite fair to say that they would be very much impressed.
Other comments: Well first off great job, I love the picture overall, and I'm sure I'm not the only one looking at the comments. The flowers in the bedside vase, I haven't seen that type of species before, but it seems a bit exotic. It really adds to the environment, same to the flowers on the wall.
Focusing on the 'ness now. Her arm seems to be lacking a bit of muscle.
Now moving up and looking at her horns, I don know any specific dementions of her head, but I've always thought that horns that protrude from a dragons head... Well, ok, take a human skull, where a dragons horns would be, push them in so they're as deep as the base of the horn is wide. Now fill in those dents with bone and that's kind of how the cavity where the brain would be, in my opinion. I could never see a dragon with horns pasted on their head, I don't know if that's what artists think in general, but it just wouldn't seem right, and that's what this image is making me think.
Now lets focus on the male. His eyes, one of the first things that caught my attention. They have depth, glimmer, basically they actually look like an eye that doesn't just have a colorful circle with a black dot in the middle.
Looking at his posture, it was kind of hard for me to tell at first weather or not he is sitting on the bed, or walking around its corner. I'm trying to get a sense of his pose based on the angle of the tray, his tail, wings, and how far his head is turned. After realizing the bedding in-between his tail and wing, sitting on the bed with legs at an angle it is.
The signature is in a nice corner just almost to the point of being just barely visible. Also I couldn't tell if this was a feature of the bedsheets or not, but the hearts and watermark are very discretely hidden, here's an internet, no problems in that department.
Wow, first ever critique on DA and its over 700 words... I hope I didn't provide too much irrielvent information..
